I stopped off in India for 3 months, on my way back from an exhibition I had in Tokyo.

I Rented a goat shed type space, with a well outside to wash etc.

 

I lived and worked in this shed/hut which I used as a studio, with the intention of making a series of paintings,

 

I had been offered a solo exhibition in Tokyo for the following year and so these paintings were created with the intention of exhibiting them in this show.

 

India, as anyone who has ever been knows, Is a very unique, colourful, contrasting, contradictory, beautiful, unpredictable, inspiring place, which I guess are some of the ingredients I try to capture in my painting.
