This series was made over a period of 2 years. I used to live in Shoreditch(London) which is just north of the city(financial).I enjoyed walking around this area  especially at weekends, evenings and sometimes nights making quick sketches.

The city series paintings are studio based but have their origins in these sketches and the way this incredible unique environment inspired me.

From a visual point of view it's very dynamic, especially at night from the effects of the buildings internal lighting. Glass, concrete and steel buildings/structures individually designed but incidentally integrated, placed next to, on top of each other and all receding to vanishing points.

In this environment perspective is exaggerated due to these tall formulated buildings interwoven. visually exciting!
