This series was made over a period of 2 years.
I used to live in shoreditch(london) which is just north of the city(financial district). I enjoyed walking around this area,  especially at weekends, evenings and sometimes nights, making quick sketches.
The city series paintings are studio based but have their origins in these sketches and the way this incredible unique enviroment inspired me.
From a visual point of view it's very dynamic, especially at night with the effects of the buildings internal lighting.
All those glass, concrete and steel buildings, structures individually designed but incidentally intergrated, placed next to, on top of each other and all receding to vanishing points.
In this enviroment perspective is exagerated due to all the tall formulated buildings.
